From the Founder: Why I Built This

I'm a medical cannabis patient. I've been one for eight years. And in those eight years, I've learned something that nobody should ever have to learn — that having a legal prescription for your medicine can still make you feel like a criminal.

Eight years. That's how long legal medical cannabis has existed in this country. And yet the stigma? It hasn't moved. Not really. Not in the way it should have.

I've walked into bars, restaurants, hotels — places I have every right to be — and felt that look. That tension. That unspoken question hanging in the air: what are you doing with that? I've been asked to leave. I've been made to feel like a problem to be managed rather than a person to be welcomed. And I'm one of thousands of patients across Ireland and Northern Ireland going through the exact same thing every single day.

This isn't about getting high. This was never about getting high. This is about people — real people, with real conditions, with real pain — finally having access to a medicine that works for them. People who fought for years to get their prescription. People who deserve to take their medicine with the same dignity as anyone taking a tablet or using an inhaler.

The law changed. The medicine is legal. But nobody told the businesses.

I built it because I was tired of guessing. Tired of that anxiety before walking through a door — will I be welcomed here, or will I have to leave? Tired of patients across the island of Ireland having nowhere to turn when all they want is a coffee, a meal, a hotel room, a normal life.
